Idea Cellular has started offering high-speed wired broadband services in Pune. Dubbed as Idea Broadband, the company is providing both Home Broadband and Ultra Fast Fiber broadband plans. While the Home Broadband Plans start at Rs 449 and go all the way up to Rs 949 with a maximum speed of 4 Mbps and 600GB FUP, the Ultra FastFiber Broadband plans start at Rs 699 and go all the way up to Rs 2,499 with a maximum speed of 200 Mbps and 500GB FUP.

We're not sure when this service is launched, but while browsing through the company's website, we have come across these plans. Unfortunately, these plans are currently available only in Pune, but yeah, the company might expand to other circles. Also, do make a note that the service is not available across the entire Pune, but available at a few places.

Idea Home Broadband Plans

So, Idea Cellular is offering broadband services of two types. And the first one is aimed at basic home users. Currently, Idea has six broadband plans under Home Broadband category. The base plan of Rs 449 offers 2 Mbps download speed and 30GB of FUP per billing cycle, along with an after FUP speed of 512 Kbps.

Apart from the base plan, the other five plans in this category offer 4 Mbps of download speed, but the monthly data limit and after FUP speed differs with every plan. That said, you can check out the broadband plans in the below image:

Also, Idea Cellular's website states that a one-time amount of Rs 500 will be charged as installation charges on monthly plans. Maybe, the company will waive off the installation charges if you opt for the quarterly or half-yearly plan. And as usual, these are base plan priced, and additional tax will be applied to every plan you choose. Sadly, Idea did not mention the plan prices for more than one month.

Idea Broadband Ultra-Fast Fiber

Next up, we have ultra-fast broadband service from India's third largest telecom operator. Idea has a total of eight plans under this category, and these are aimed at small businesses and offices. The Rs 699 and Rs 899 broadband plans offer 40 Mbps of download speed with 40GB and 75GB data FUP per billing cycle. They offer an after FUP speed of 2 Mbps.

Next on the list, we have five 100 Mbps broadband plans of Rs 1,099, Rs 1,299, Rs 1,499, Rs 1,799 and Rs 2,099. These five plans come with a monthly data FUP of 120GB, 175GB, 225GB, 300GB and 400GB respectively. The Rs 1,099 and Rs 1,299 gives an after FUP speed of 2 Mbps, while the other three plans of Rs 1,499, Rs 1,799 and Rs 2,099 offer 4 Mbps after FUP download speed.

With that, we get to the premium plan in Idea Broadband, which is the Rs 2,499 plan. This plan gives data speed at 200 Mbps at a FUP of 500GB. It also offers after FUP speed of 4 Mbps.

And as usual, these prices are excluding taxes. Idea Cellular will also collect a security deposit amount of Rs 1,500 from every customer, which is a refundable amount.

Idea Broadband Value Added Services

And on top of the broadband plans, Idea Cellular is also offering three Value Added Services such as Idea PC Protect, Idea PC Protect Plus and Idea Music On Demand.

As the same itself suggests, Idea PC Protect is an antivirus software from Idea Cellular which safeguards important computer data from virus attacks & malware while browsing the web. And the Idea PC Protect Plus is a premium version of the standard Idea PC Protect with advanced features.

And the Idea Music On Demand is a free music streaming service with Idea promising songs for every age group. However, we are not sure whether these services come along with the standard broadband plan or if a customer needs to subscribe them separately. Nevertheless, there's a 'subscribe' button on every page of the VAS service, hinting at a separate subscription.

Well, there we have it. As stated, we're not sure when Idea Cellular launched these plans, but apart from that, it's good to see Idea stepping into the wired broadband segment. With that said, in coming months, customers will enjoy attractive broadband plans as well because Reliance Jio is stepping into the segment with JioFiber service.
