More telecom operators are coming forward to provide reduced tariffs for India to Nepal calls as their noble gesture to help the earthquake impacted people today. Idea Cellular and Reliance are the latest to offer discounts.
Through Idea Cellular networks, the friends and families can reach their dear ones in Nepal at a local call rate, precisely at Rs. 1/min instead of the regular Rs. 12/min. The offer will begin from the midnight of 25th April and will extend till the morning of 28th April 2015.
In the press note released by the service provider, Idea Cellular promised to stay committed during the time of crisis and also extended such measures during any future calamities.
Reliance too joined the lead, announcing local call rates, which will be effective from today midnight. The offer will be available till Tuesday 2400 hours, tweeted the provider on their official Twitter page.
Earlier the day, Airtel and BSNL announced similar offers. Airtel offered free calls, whereas BSNL announced local rates.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Vodafone and Aircel are busy promoting their cricket contests in twitter at the time of reporting. Vodafone is busy with their #VodafoneSpeedQuiz, which asks the people to predict the winners of the match. Aircel is also running a similar contest named #Aircel1Plus3. It looks like these operators are yet to notice the earthquake that shook not just Nepal, but also its neighboring countries including India.
