Idea Cellular’s New Rs 349 Prepaid Plan Offers 84GB Data for 28 Days

Following the footsteps of Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular has now introduced a new Rs 349 prepaid plan with a validity of 28 days and 3GB data per day on offer. Idea’s new tariff plan is different from the Rs 357 prepaid plan which the telco used to offer earlier. The Rs 349 plan is offered in several circles alongside the Rs 357 plan, but the irony is the newly launched Rs 349 plan offers better benefits than the existing Rs 357 prepaid plan. With the Rs 349 plan, Idea Cellular prepaid customer will get 3GB of data per day which takes the overall data benefit to 84GB for 28 days, unlimited voice calls with a cap and 100 SMS per day for the entire validity period. This plan from Idea Cellular is introduced to take on the Airtel’s Rs 349 plan which was recently revised.

As mentioned, Idea Cellular also has a Rs 357 prepaid plan which is offering the user unlimited voice calls, 2GB data per day and 100 SMS per day for 28 days. Do make a note that the Idea’s new Rs 349 plan is not yet live in some circles, while the Rs 357 plan is an open market pan-India plan. Maybe the Rs 357 plan will be removed once Idea Cellular makes the new Rs 349 plan a pan-India one.

The Rs 349 plan also comes with voice calling limitations. Idea says that customers using more than 250 outgoing minutes (local+STD as per unlimited pack benefits) in a day will be charged at one paise per sec (local +STD), after consumption of 250 minutes for the rest of the day till the end of the day. Also, customers using more than 1000 minutes in any period of consecutive seven days, will be charged at one paise per sec for rest of seven days period. Furthermore, customers calling more than 100 unique numbers in any period of seven consecutive days will also be charged at one paise per sec (local+STD) after 100 unique numbers, for the rest of validity of recharge.

Another thing worth noting is that free-roaming benefit can be availed in national roaming only on Idea Network, and not on other networks. After the completion of 3GB data per day, default charges of 4p/10KB will be applicable. The data benefit offered by Idea is 4G, if not 4G, users can be able to consume it in 3G or 2G.

Bharti Airtel is also offering a similar Rs 349 prepaid plan with 3GB data on offer, unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day for 28 days. But the benefit of Airtel’s plan it comes with no voice calling FUP. Both the telcos introduced this plan to take on the Jio’s Rs 299 prepaid plan that’s offering 3GB data per day for 28 days.
