Idea Cellular Expands Its 4G Footprint to Srinagar

Idea Cellular, one of the leading telecom operators in India, has launched its 4G services in Srinagar. Ever since the launch of 4G services in Jammu earlier this year, Idea has rapidly expanded coverage and its 4G services are now available in 26 towns of Jammu & Kashmir, including Udhampur, Katra, Samba, Poonch, Rajouri, Kathua, in addition to Srinagar.

Idea’s 4G services were flagged off from the company’s stores in various locations in Srinagar. Idea 4G SIMs are now available at its company retail store at Karan Nagar and other telecom retail stores for people to connect with ‘India’s Big 4G network’.

According to Mr Sudhir Pradhan, Chief Operating Officer- Punjab, HP and J&K, Idea Cellular., “We are happy to launch our world class, high-speed 4G services for Idea customers in Srinagar. Internet has the power to transform people’s lives and we are confident that Idea 4G will fulfil the infotainment needs of the local citizens.”

Rapidly expanding the network in the circle, Idea plans to add nearly 100 4G sites in J&K in the next one month, out of which 60 are planned for Srinagar alone.

“We will continue to invest in network and distribution to expand 4G coverage in J&K over the next few months”, adds Mr Pradhan.

Idea’s mobile broadband services are currently available to nearly 500 million Indians across nearly 100,000 towns and villages.

Idea has also launched Digital Idea, a suite of digital applications for the on-the-move consumers of J&K. As part of the Digital Idea offerings, the company is offering a suite of 3 entertainment apps – Idea Music Lounge, Idea Movie Club and Idea Game Spark for its over 7.0 lakh customers in J&K circle.

Idea has introduced a range of attractive offers including tariff packs, bundled smartphone offers and digital content for its users in J&K. From unlimited data & voice calling plans, to handset bonanza offers and smartphone deals, Idea offers a range of products for all category of users

The company is also offering 1GB data per day and unlimited voice calls for 84 days at Rs. 392 for users who upgrade from 3G to 4G SIM card.
