Huawei Y9 Prime Launched for Rs 15,990 With Triple Camera Setup and Pop-Up Selfie Camera

Huawei has been launching its phones with the Honor sub-brand in India, but it’s been a while since we saw a release from the major brand itself. However, the wait for Huawei’s new phone is over, as the brand has announced its latest phone, the Huawei Y9 Prime. In a new event, Huawei announced the specifications, pricing and other details about the Y9 Prime and some of its highlights include triple rear camera setup, full-view display, pop-up selfie camera and more. Also, the device makes its foray into the mid-range price segment, which remains one of the most competitive smartphone segment out there. Here are all the details about the Huawei Y9 Prime.




Huawei Y9 Prime Specifications

The Huawei Y9 Prime sports a 6.59-inch TFT LCD screen which renders a resolution of 2340 x 1080 and it comes with a pixel density of 391ppi. The display on the Huawei Y9 Prime is also capable of rendering 16.7 million colours. When it comes to performance, the Huawei Y9 Prime packs the Hisilicon Kirin 710F SoC and accompanied with this is 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. On the Huawei Y9 Prime, the users will also get the option of expanding the storage up to 512GB via a microSD card. On the software front, the Huawei Y9 Prime sports the EMUI 9.0 which is Huawei’s own skin on top of Android 9 Pie.

The rear camera setup on the Huawei Y9 Prime consists of three sensors, and these include a 16MP f/1.8 primary sensor with 1.12-micron pixel, an 8MP f/2.4 ultra-wide 120-degree secondary sensor and a 2MP f/2.4 tertiary depth sensor. For selfies, the Huawei Y9 Prime sports a pop-up selfie camera of 16MP. Huawei has also announced that the pop-up selfie camera on the device has been tested 100,000 times and it comes with auto-retraction when the device falls for the protection of the sensor. The front camera also supports low-light polymerisation, 4-in-1 technology, real-time image optimisation, and 8 scene recognition. The phone also supports 480fps super slow motion

As for the battery, the Huawei Y9 Prime sports a 4000mAh unit to keep things running. On the lower edge, the phone has a Type-C port and a headphone jack. The device also packs sensors like fingerprint, an ambient light sensor which finds its place on the bottom edge of the phone, digital compass, gravity sensor, and gyroscope sensor. The phone debuts in two colour variants of Emerald Green and Sapphire Blue and the dimensions of the phone measure 77.3mm x 8.8mm x 163.5mm.

Huawei Y9 Prime Pricing and Availability

Huawei has announced that the phone will retail with a price tag of Rs 15,990 and it will be available starting August 7. For people who pre-book the phone, the device will ship with a 15,600mAh battery pack and a Huawei sports BT earphone as well.
