HTC is now seeding a new software update to its two-year-old flagship device, the HTC 10. The update takes the device to Android 8.0 Oreo and comes with December 2017 security patches. And finally, the HTC 10 users will be able to use Reliance Jio's 4G VoLTE service as the update includes the same. The OTA update, weighing 1.43GB takes the device to version number- 3.18.400.2 and includes all the Oreo features introduced by the search giant Google.
HTC is rolling out the software update in India currently, and it might reach your phone very soon. If you've received it already, update it by download the OTA file or else wait for the next couple of days to reach it on your phone.
HTC did not mention any changelog for the update, except for the Android 8.0 Oreo update, system enhancements and Reliance Jio's VoLTE readiness points.
Notably, the Android Oreo update will be the last major update for the HTC 10 as the company already confirmed the news. For the unaware, the HTC 10 was released way back in May 2016 with Android Marshmallow out of the box. Later on, it got updated to Android 7.0 Nougat last year, and now, the Android Oreo update is making its way to the flagship device.
HTC also confirmed on Twitter that it did not skimp any features of Oreo in this new update. All the Oreo features such as picture-in-picture mode, smart text selection, new emojis etc. will be present on the HTC 10 after the update. Also, HTC is rolling out the update based on its Sense UI.
