Huawei sub-brand Honor seems to be working on another variant of Honor 9 smartphone. A new device dubbed Honor 9 Lite was spotted on Chinese certification agency TENAA’s website. The listing on certification website revealed images and key specs of the upcoming device.
As per the TENAA images, the Honor 9 Lite will feature all screen front with 18:9 aspect ratio. The phone appears to sport a glass back panel with horizontal dual camera configuration on the rear, and fingerprint scanner placed slightly in the middle. The phone’s volume rocker and power keys are placed on the right side.
The Honor 9 Lite sports a 5.65-inch IPS LCD display with FHD+ resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio as per the TENAA listing. The chipset on the website is unnamed, but Honor 9 Lite is expected to be powered by brand’s own Kirin 659 SoC. The device will come in two RAM and storage configurations - 3GB RAM plus 32GB storage and a 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant. There will also be support for microSD card storage expansion.
The highlight of the phone is, of course, the quad camera support. The Honor 9 Lite features a 13MP primary shooter paired with 2MP secondary snapper, at both front and rear. A dual LED flash will come with rear cameras. The video recording capabilities of the camera are, however, capped at 1080p.
The good news is Honor 9 Lite will run Android 8.0 Oreo operating system topped with EMUI OS layer out-of-the-box. A 2900mAH nonremovable battery will fuel the device. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. As for the pricing, the Honor 9 Lite will be available for Rs 13000 for the 3GB RAM model and for Rs 15000 for the 4GB RAM version.
Honor is all set to hold an event on December 21 in China where the company will be unveiling Honor 9 Lite smartphone. This was confirmed as Honor already sent the media invites for the launch event along with a pair of glasses and some texts related to AI. The invite hints existence of some pretty cool artificial intelligence features in the Honor 9 Lite.
