Broadband internet service provider Homeplus is set to launch Taiwan's first 25G PON (Passive Optical Network) fiber service, offering internet speeds up to 125 times faster than the national average of 200 Mbps. Homeplus will deploy Nokia's 25G PON fiber solution to deliver some of the fastest broadband speeds in Taiwan. The commercial deployment of 25G PON will enable Homeplus to deliver enhanced residential and business services, Homeplus said in a joint statement on Tuesday.

Benefits of Homeplus’s New Fiber Solution
Powered by Nokia’s Quillion chipset and Lightspan FX platform, the new 25G PON technology allows Homeplus to upgrade its existing fiber network to support speeds of up to 25 Gbps. This will enable the company to offer next-generation services, including 8K video streaming, cloud computing, virtual reality, and Internet of Things (IoT) applications.

Homeplus can leverage a full range of PON technologies, from GPON to 25G PON and beyond, to deliver speeds and enhanced services that will increase its competitive advantage, the official release said.
