Google launched the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones only recently and both of them are pretty expensive and target the premium segment. It looks like the company is working on two new mid-range smartphones and may launch them in the forthcoming months. However, Google is yet to reveal official details on these phones. It was long rumoured that Google could be working a mid-range smartphone for the emerging markets like India and the new leaks make the rumours more prominent. A teardown of the latest ARCore APK by Android Police reveals that Google is working on not just one, but two mid-range smartphones to be launched in the upcoming months.

Previous rumours suggest that Google could be working on a mid-range phone codenamed ‘Bonito’. The new leak suggests that Bonito exists. But, along with Bonito, the leak suggests that Google is working on another phone codenamed ‘Sargo’. As of now, we still don’t know what these phones will be called and how much they will be priced. All we know right now about the pricing is that these phones will not be as expensive as the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL.

The teardown of the latest ARCore APK reveals that Google is working on two new smartphones, namely Bonito and Sargo. In the past we have come across several rumours about Bonito but nothing about Sargo yet. The ARCore APK doesn’t reveal any additional details apart from the codenames of the upcoming phones from Google. To recall, Bonito was previously spotted on Geekbench, and the benchmarking site revealed that the mid-range phone would be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset.

Some other rumours suggested that the Bonito will be a budget-friendly smartphone from Google and it could possibly be called as Pixel Mini. As noted, as of now, there’s no information regarding the second phone – Sargo.

When Will the Mid-Range Smartphones From Google Launch?

Earlier, rumours hinted that Google could launch the Pixel Mini alongside the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, but that didn’t happen. In fact, Google didn’t announce anything about launching a mid-range smartphone at the event. And now that rumours are popping up on the internet again, it could be that Google’s mid-range phones launch is nearing.

As of now, rumours don’t reveal when Google plans to reveal its mid-range smartphones, but considering the buzz about these phones from Google has already started we expect the launch to happen in the next few months or so. Some rumours suggest that the launch can even happen by the end of this year.

Price of the Google Phones

Rumour mill suggests that Google could price these mid-range phones somewhere between Rs 20,000 – Rs 35,000. By keeping the price of the phones around Rs 35,000, Google will definitely worry other smartphone makers like OnePlus, Xiaomi, Nokia, Honor and others. Rumours suggest that Google is aiming the emerging markets with these two mid-range smartphones, we expect both Bonito and Sargo to come to India.
