At the Google I/O 2019 last week, Google took wraps off the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL smartphones. At the same conference, the search giant also announced Android Q Beta 3 for 21 smartphones from 13 OEMs. Right after the event, Google confirmed that the Pixel 3a devices would be part of Android Q Beta programme, but it seems like the support has now been removed, as updated on the Android Developers official website. The website displays only six Pixel phones to be eligible for the Android Q Beta programme currently, and at the same time, it confirmed that the Pixel 3a and the Pixel 3a XL would be eligible next month (June). Firstly, Google removed the option of enrolling into the beta programme through OTA, and now, the factory images have been pulled as well, as reported by Android Police.
Google Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL No Longer Supports Android Q Beta
As noted, Google silently removed both the devices from the beta programme. Users who purchased a Pixel 3a or the Pixel 3a XL and upgraded their phone to Android Q Beta are currently facing issues related to downgrading as the downgrade OTA is not appearing on their handset. Google released the factory images for both the handsets so if you're familiar with the manual sideloading procedure, you're good to downgrade, but those who're not familiar will have to wait for Google to respond on the issue.
The official Android Developers website says both the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL will get Android Q Beta 3 support sometime in June, but there's no exact reason available on why the support has been removed. Android Q Beta 3 is available for 21 smartphones from popular OEMs like HMD Global, Xiaomi, Huawei, Vivo, OnePlus and so on. The beta 3 for non-Pixel phones is unusable as a daily driver because it's plagued with a lot of issues.
