Google has only been known to launch premium segment phones through the Pixel series of smartphones which come with impeccable camera performance. However, Google’s phones also have the reputation of being far beyond the reach of the common public owing to their expensive price tag. To change that, this year Google introduced the Pixel 3a and the Pixel 3a XL in India which are the trickled down versions of the previously launched Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. Both of these phones start at the price tag of Rs 39,999 but owing to the Qualcomm Snapdragon Days Sale, both the phones are available with a Rs 4,000 discount on Flipkart.
Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL Discount on Flipkart
Like we mentioned above, the Pixel 3a and the Pixel 3a XL come with some of the most notable features of the Pixel series barring some of the luxuries of the original Pixel series. For example, the Pixel 3a XL comes with a plastic unibody instead of the glass-metal combo which is present on the original Pixel 3 XL. Also, the Pixel 3a phones come with a single selfie camera on the front instead of a dual camera setup on the front. The major point of difference between the flagship series of Pixel 3 and the next in line, Pixel 3a series has to do with the processor on both of these phones. While the Pixel 3 series sports the much powerful Snapdragon 845 processor, the Pixel 3a series comes with the Snapdragon 675 SoC.
Combined with the new discount from Flipkart, the Pixel 3a is now available at a starting price of Rs 35,999. Even then, the Pixel 3a goes head-on with the OnePlus 7 in this price range, which is a little cheaper than its Google competitor. Other phones in competition with the Pixel 3a include Asus 6Z, Nubia Red Magix 3 and Honor 20. The higher variant of the Pixel 3a, the Pixel 3a XL is retailing for Rs 40,999 after the discount. Now the question remains whether or not the Pixel 3a XL is worthy even with a Rs 4,000 discount.
Worthiness of the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL After Rs 4,000 Discount
There is no doubt that the software experience on the Google Pixel 3a and the Pixel 3a XL remains unmatched, and the same is true for other Pixel phones as well. There is also no doubt that the Pixel phones will be always the first ones to receive the Android updates and they come with a Titan M security chip which offers extra security to these devices. The ergonomics and the design of the phones are also something which proves to be the edge of the Pixel phones. But the thing to note is that even at the price point of Rs 35,999 the Pixel 3a remains underpowered owing to the Snapdragon 670 while there are other options in the market like OnePlus 7 and more. The battery life of the Google Pixel 3a and 3a XL is another point of concern as it will deliver at most a day’s worth of power, unlike the Asus 6Z which offers amazing software optimisation along with 5,000mAh battery.
