Google has launched one half of its latest Pixel 2 lineup in India. The Pixel 2 is available online exclusively on Flipkart and also via offline retailers including Reliance Digitals, Croma, and Vijay Sales among others with financing options from HDFC Bank, Bajaj Finance, and other leading institutions. Starting November 2, the Pixel 2 will be shipped to those who have pre-ordered.
The Pixel 2 comes with a price tag of Rs. 61,000 for the 64GB variant while it costs Rs. 70,000 for the 128GB variant. As for the design aspect, the Pixel 2 comes with a similar design to that of the original Pixel, with significantly bezels on the front. The back also sees a resemblance to its predecessor with its metal and glass division. The smartphone is made available in the colour options of Just Black, Clearly White, and Kinda Blue.
The Google Pixel 2 sports a 5-inch display with a 1080p resolution and an aspect ratio of 16:9. Under the hood, the device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor which is paired with 4GB of RAM and onboard storage. The smartphone runs the latest Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box and is backed by a 2,700mAh battery. Its connectivity options include Wi-Fi 2.4/5GHz 802.11 a/b/c/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS/A-GPS, and 4G compatibility.
The Pixel 2 also comes with added features such as Active Edge Sense to quickly launch Google Assistant by squeezing the frame, an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance, Google Lens, e-SIM support, and a fingerprint sensor on the back, among other things.
Meanwhile, its larger counterpart, the Pixel 2 XL, will start shipping starting November 15 for customers who pre-ordered. The smartphone comes with a design language that slightly differs from its predecessors. The most notable feature about the Pixel 2 XL is its relatively slim bezels on the front allowing a full-screen display and an 18:9 aspect ratio.
