Google, a search engine giant, has now introduced a new feature for its AI (artificial intelligence) platform Gemini - Personal Intelligence. With Personal Intelligence, users can connect multiple apps such as Photos and Gmail directly with Gemini. This allows users to have a more personalised experience.

For example, when connected, users can just ask Gemini for the license plate number of their vehicle if it is somewhere in their photos. Google explained that it is not that Gemini is training on your data, but instead training to execute the prompt. For instance, when you ask Gemini for license plate number, it is not training on the photos present in your account, instead it has been trained to execute the prompt and locate the number plate, and then deliver to you.
What's more is that you can be worry free about your data being shared with anyone else for processing. Gemini is not being trained on your data in the first place. Then, all the data is already in your Google account. So all you are doing is basically telling Gemini that this data is also mine, and if I ask you for something related to my data, just execute it. That is what connecting the apps is in simple words.

Personal Intelligence isn't switched on by default. It will have to be switched on from the settings inside Gemini. You can choose to connect one or more apps with Gemini. Further, Personal Intelligence is currently available as a beta in the United States of America (U.S.A). This will be rolled out to the Google Gemini Pro and higher tier subscription users first, and the eventually be rolled out for the free users as well.
