Gionee launches its first ‘Made in India’ smartphone the F103, priced at Rs. 9,999

Taking the ‘Make in India’ initiative forward, Gionee has finally announced its first India manufactured smartphone, the F103. The smartphone comes with a 5-inch HD IPS display, and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core 64-bit processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. The phone will be retailing at Rs. 9,999 in India.

At the launch event, Gionee also revealed that it has sold more than 7 Million devices in India, and now it is aiming towards making it double in 2015-2016. Now that it is manufacturing devices in India, the company is hopeful towards garnering more sales. Gionee’s India CEO, Arvind Vohra said,“It gives us immense pleasure to announce our India manufacturing. The Make in India is yet another step towards showcasing our commitment to India. It was an honor to have Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh joining us on this momentous occasion. We are very excited to have received unprecedented support from our consumers in last two years and we hope to deliver better and better every time.”
