My opinion : Samsung A9 pro 2016 and Sony M5 are far more better than the above worst class company gionee.

A9 pro 2016 : OIS for rear camera, large battery capacity than the worst class gionee

Sony M5 : has auto focus for the front camera

Samsung On8, C7 pro, C5 pro can also be considered better models than the worst gionee.

Gionee does update their phones. The problem with mediate is that you will only be provided with kernel sources for Android upgrades if you buy their chips in high quantities. Hence why goober is releasing so many models with the same mediate chips. Sony leaves the ordering to its odms. If you only release a few models with mediate choosers, chances are you will not be able to upgrade your phones.
