At the recently concluded MWC 2017, Gionee showed their presence by launching the Gionee A1 and A1 Plus. Of late, Gionee has been concentrating a lot in the selfie space. All their smartphones launched under the Gionee S6 series were designed to impress selfie freaks, and Gionee is continuing to do the same with their new A series of phones.

At the time of the launch in MWC 2017, the company did not reveal any plans on when they are planning to launch the phones in India. And now, Gionee listed the A1 on their official website saying it as ‘coming soon,’ but rumours say that the phone will be launched in India on March 22. Also, according to a report coming from PhoneRadar, the Gionee A1 will be priced at Rs. 21,999. The Gionee A1 will also bear the ‘Made in India’ tagline.
The Gionee A1 sports a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels, carrying a pixel density of 401 PPI. Under the hood, there is a MediaTek Helio P10 chipset, which is an octa-core chip with four Cortex A53 cores clocked at 2GHz and the other four Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1GHz. The chipset in the phone is clubbed with 4GB of RAM and offers 64GB of internal storage, which can also be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card slot.

Aforesaid, the Gionee A1 is aimed at selfie lovers and comes with a 16MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and 1/3-inch sensor. As seen on the Gionee S6 series of phones, the A1 also boasts of a front-facing flash. At the rear side of the phone, there is a 13MP sensor with support for autofocus, face detection, HDR mode, and LED flash.
