Federated Wireless and VMware Collaborate for Private 4G and 5G Networks-as-a-Service
Federated Wireless announced partnering with VMware to deliver private 4G and 5G networks via the new VMware Private Mobile Network Service. This joint solution aims to provide enterprises with streamlined deployment of private cellular networks without the complexity of building and operating standalone infrastructure. Federated Wireless on Tuesday has announced its selection of VMware to deliver private 4G and 5G Networks-as-a-Service for enterprises.

Federated Wireless and VMware Team Up

The partnership combines Federated Wireless' expertise in building and operating private 4G and 5G radio access network (RAN) infrastructure with VMware's Private Mobile Network Orchestrator. This integration allows seamless end-to-end network management while integrating with existing IT environments.

Advantages for Enterprises

According to the statement, key advantages of this joint solution include the streamlined deployment of private networks at enterprise locations, a simplified private mobile core that harmonizes with IT management platforms, centralized orchestration for network automation, heightened security for crucial applications, and carrier-grade performance with tailored Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Transition to Private 4G and 5G Networks

Enterprises operating in challenging coverage areas will benefit from an easy transition to private 4G and 5G networks, powered by the Federated Wireless and VMware collaboration. "The utilization of CBRS shared spectrum and privately licensed spectrum further enhances spectrum flexibility for businesses," the statement noted.

Kevin McCartney, Vice President of Alliances at Federated Wireless, noted, "Through the strength of our combined solutioning with VMware, we're giving customers in difficult-to-cover environments an easy on-ramp to private 4G and 5G with the performance and scale they require."

Saadat Malik, Vice President and General Manager, Edge Computing at VMware stated: "With Federated Wireless and a growing partner ecosystem, we’re making it simpler for enterprises to deploy and run private networks in a model that aligns with their business needs."
