Facebook has consistently been providing updates to their Messenger app for both Android and iOS. Recently, the social network giant has added a new 'Messenger Day' feature, same as the Instagram Stories where you can share photos, which will be disappeared after 24 hours. Today, the company has rolled out a new update adding three new features- message reactions, dislike reaction, and mentions.
Some days ago, it was rumored that Facebook is working on the features mentioned above and it is true already. Facebook Messenger has been updated with a new Message Reactions features. As the name itself suggests, you can react to individual messages with emotion, same as the Facebook posts reaction feature. Users will be able to see all the reactions to their messages at the bottom left corner.
There are six reactions available currently- like, love, smile, sad, angry. Facebook is rolling out a new reaction in the form of 'dislike.' You can now express your displeasure towards something on the Facebook Messages by disliking it.
The third and final feature added to the Facebook Messenger app is the famous 'mentions.' WhatsApp recently picked up the same feature, and this feature is available in the Slack application for ages now. With the new @mentions feature, you can tag someone in a group message, same as what we are currently doing in WhatsApp. In addition to that, you will get notified whenever someone mentions you in a message and that's quite handy.
Facebook has announced the update today, and it will be gradually rolled out in coming days. Meanwhile, head over to your respective app stores and check whether any update for the app is available.
