Dish TV Could be One of the Best Choices for DTH Customers in the Coming Days: Here are the Reasons Why

Follow Us

The DTH industry has grown increasingly competitive over the last few months. The main factors behind this have been the regulatory changes that have been brought forth by the regulatory forces at play in the sector. The new tariff regime and the other regulatory measures introduced by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) have led to the current situation of the industry. To set themselves apart, the DTH operators and the other platform operators are innovating and launching new services, offering new discounts and more to lure subscribers to their platforms. In this race is one of the biggest DTH operators of the country Dish TV. While, until a few days back, the operator was the top one among all the competitors, it has lost its crown to Tata Sky. But, we believe that in the coming days it might be one of the best choices for the consumers and these are the reasons.

Very Attractive Long Term Plan

Dish TV is amongst the operators in the DTH space who are offering very attractive long term plans for their subscribers. As part of Dish TV’s long term offerings, the subscribers would be able to enjoy free service months on upfront payment. Although the long term plans of Dish TV are better than the others by default, the festive offerings which the operator is shipping have made it even more attractive for the subscribers.

Under this festive offering, Dish TV has announced that subscribers who make an upfront payment for ten months of Dish TV service would be getting two extra months of service, which means to get a year worth of Dish TV service, the subscribers would only have to pay ten months of the subscription amount. Similarly, there is also a semi-annual version of this offer in which, the subscribers can decide to pay for six months of service, and they will receive 7 months of benefits.

Dish TV to Soon Introduce Hybrid Set-Top Box

This is another offering, which when introduced, will set apart Dish TV from other operators. Currently, Airtel Digital TV is the only DTH company in India which is offering a smart Set-Top Box. However, after the introduction of the Hybrid Set-Top Box by Dish TV, the subscribers will enjoy better integration of OTT apps with their satellite TV channels. Dish TV has already announced that it has partnered up with Amazon Prime Video for this Hybrid Set-Top Box.

Right now Dish TV has the DishSMRT service, which is a dongle-based solution for accessing OTT apps on your TV screen. But, the hybrid Set-Top Box will be a step ahead of this offering as it will combine the DTH connection and OTT apps into one.

Unique Services by Dish TV

It is not only the soon to be launched hybrid Set-Top Box or the long term plans which make Dish TV the more attractive choice. The operator has also been constantly setting itself apart with the help of other unique offerings. These include the WhatsApp notification service for its subscribers. The Dish TV customers can enrol their registered number for this service and then they can make enquiries like their last recharge amount, pending account balance and more. There are also Alexa Skills available for Dish TV subscribers which allows them to use Alexa to ask things about their Dish TV account. This is something that the other operators are not offering.

Given the above-mentioned things, the economical choice and the technological solutions that Dish TV is all set to provide in the coming days it is likely that the consumers looking for a new DTH connection will be drawn to the DTH operator.
