D2h was one of the first operators to comply with the new mandate, now to make the process easier the provider has introduced its own recommended combo channel packs

Highlights
  • D2h has listed a total of 20 combo channel packs on its website
  • Combo packs also available in languages like Bengali, Kannada, Telugu and more.

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) has extended the deadline for the implementation of the new tariff mandate to March 31. However, there has been no reduction in the efforts being put in by the DTH providers to migrate the subscribers to the new channel packs. One of the biggest DTH providers in India, D2h has also been on this task and has managed to migrate a large chunk of its total base to the new packs. To make the migration process more manageable, these providers are also taking the help of recommended channel packs which allow the subscribers to select a bunch of channels in a single click easily. D2h has come forward with its own set of combo plans known as ‘d2h Recommended Combo(s)’. The price of these combo packs start at Rs 190, and these channels are available in regional languages as well.

D2h Recommended Combo Plans Launched: Check Out the Details

As noted above, D2h is offering various combos and every combo plan comes with free 100 FTA channels as part of Basic Service Tier. For the unaware, every DTH pack now comes with 100 FTA channels and they cost Rs 130 per month. While some DTH providers are offering all the FTA channels for free, D2h will charge after the first 100 channels. For every additional lot of 25 channels, the charges will be as follow: If between 1-15 channels, a customer will be charged Re 1 per month for every channel; If between 16 and 25 channels, the charges will be at Rs 20 per month. Complete FTA channel list on D2h can be availed here.

Do make a note that the above combos might change at any period of time and the prices mentioned above are Distributor Retail Price (DRP), meaning additional taxes will be applicable. To recall, D2h was the first service provider which fully implemented Trai’s new tariff regime. The company unveiled the channels packs and prices earlier this month, and since the third week, it also allowed customers to exercise options via its website. Notably, Dish TV, Sun Direct, Tata Sky, Airtel Digital TV are also allowing customers to opt new plans ahead of the February 1 deadline. D2h customers can head over to the company’s website and exercise their options before the deadline.
