D2h Introduces Amazon Alexa Skill, Allows Users to Get Account Info, Content Discovery and More

Following the footsteps of Dish TV, D2h also introduced a special Amazon Alexa skill that allows users to check their account balance, discover content and perform various other actions through Alexa voice assistant. For the unaware, Dish TV skill was already available for Dish TV users in the country, but now, D2h users can also check for content, account balance and other queries through Amazon Alexa. According to the DTH operator, the D2h skill provides voice-activated content discovery, reminders and engagement. With this skill, D2h customers can ask Alexa about movies, TV shows & sports pick of the day.

How to Use D2h Amazon Alexa Skill?

First of all, Alexa users will have to link their D2h account and the first step to do so is by saying “Alexa, enable d2h.” After linking, users can start using the skill to discover movies, sports, music and more by speaking to Alexa. The newly introduced D2h skill will allow subscribers to use voice commands through Alexa for surfing a wide range of content and also get up-to-date information about their D2h account.

Not only that, with the D2h skill, subscribers will be able to set reminders for their favourite programmes, get recommendations on trending programs, access to D2h account details, register ‘call me’ request, do basic troubleshooting and lot more though Alexa enabled devices.

D2h Alexa Skill Can Also Be Accessed Through the Alexa App

Furthermore, D2h also confirmed that the skill could also be accessed via the Alexa mobile app available for both Android and iOS devices. The D2h Alexa skill can be used by anyone with an Amazon Echo smart speaker or other devices such as headphones and speakers with Alexa built-in. It’s also said that more features will be added going forward which will help the customers get more info through the D2h skill.

D2h Amazon Alexa Skill: What are the Commands?

As mentioned above, D2h subscribers can link their account and access information such as current balance, switch-off date and monthly recharge amount, using a selection of commands. As for the commands, D2h users can get started with “Alexa, launch D2h,” or “Alexa, open D2h.”

D2h Alexa skill also allows users to add reminders for their favourite programme just by asking for “Alexa, ask d2h to remind me when FRIENDS is playing?.” Users can also ask for the top show of the day by issuing the voice command- “Alexa, ask d2h what are the top (movie/sports/tv shows) of the day?.”

As for checking the account status, D2h customers can issue commands like “Alexa, ask d2h what is my account balance?,” “Alexa, ask d2h when do I need to recharge my account?”, “Alexa, ask d2h to call me.”
