Coolpad recently announced the Cool Play 6 (First Impressions) smartphone in the Indian market. The smartphone is aimed at gamers and camera enthusiasts. At the launch event, the Chinese company revealed that the device will be up for sale on Amazon India from September 4. As promised, the Cool Play 6 is now available for Rs. 14,999 on Amazon, along with a couple of offers.

The Cool Play 6 buyers will get 20GB additional data from Reliance Jio for four months (5GB/month) with the recharge of Rs. 309 or above. Also, customers can avail no cost EMI for 3 or 6 months instalment period.

The USP of the Cool Play 6 smartphone is the 6GB of RAM module inside. It is the only smartphone under Rs. 15,000 to offer massive RAM. The smartphone is fuelled with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 chipset. It comes with 64GB of internal storage to serve your needs. The sad part is that the memory is not expandable because Coolpad did not add a microSD card slot on the phone, which is a letdown.

The device features all-metal body and has a 5.5-inch Full HD display up front with a 2.5D curved glass and 403 PPI. The handset runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat based JupiterUI out-of-the-box.

Nevertheless, the Cool Play 6 is a dual-SIM smartphone and has support for VoLTE as well. Other connectivity options on the device include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802/11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and USB Type-C port.

The phone has all the sensors such as an accelerometer, proximity sensor, light sensor, and E-compass as well. The fingerprint scanner is located at the back side of the phone, within reach of the index finger.

The device weighs in at 177grams, which is largely due to the metal body, and massive 4000mAh battery. Another highlight in the Cool Play 6 is the dual camera setup at the back. The phone has two 13MP sensors at the back; One sensor captures coloured shots, while the other sensor is a black and white sensor. There's a Portrait mode as well on the phone.

The Cool Play 6 thumps the competition when it comes to the RAM department. No other manufacturer is offering 6GB of RAM under Rs. 15,000. Our full review of the Cool Play 6 will be up in the next couple of days.
