BSNL the PSU operator who has recently been cudgeled by Telecom minister Manoj Sinha to roll up its sleeves and improve QoS and offerings to be able to retain market share in the wake of developments by private operators, will be doing its bit by increasing the pre FUP bundled data offering in select broadband plans Pan India.
The operator has revised the offering in BBG ULD 545, BBG combo ULD 675 and BBG rural combo ULD 650, all of which used to offer 3GB pre FUP will now from 1st October 2016 start offering 5 GB data before speeds are throttled to 1 Mbps. This revision will be applicable in all 20 circles where BSNL operates.

Also in Madhya Pradesh and Chhatisgarh circle specifically BSNL has revised the pre FUP data offering in BBG combo ULD 4945 CS29 plan which currently offers 10 GB and will start offering 12 GB from 1st October 2016. The details of the revision in plan are given in the table below.

Other developments:
In order to increase the broadband subscriber base, BSNL will be offering its ADSL wifi modem for only Rs.1500 with 100% cash back offer to users who subscribe to any plan with fixed monthly charge of Rs.700 or above and buy the modem outright from BSNL. This offer will be provided on a promotional basis from 1st October to 31st December 2016 in all 20 circles where BSNL operates.
