State owned BSNL has launched a web based self care portal for its GSM prepaid subscribers in the south zone, which covers the states of Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The self care portal has been launched with the aim of delivering ease of access to the subscribers and giving them more direct control with their account.

The self care portal provides information regarding talk time balance in the account with live updates, information about currently active packs and special tariff vouchers in the account and the ability to add new or remove existing STVs from the account.

Loging in to the self care portal is fairly simple and does not require the subscriber to sign up with a user id and password but rather requires the user to enter his 10 digit prepaid GSM mobile number and receive a one time password on his phone through SMS and enter that on the login page to gain access to his account details.

This is a nice initiative by BSNL and hopefully we shall see it being launched in the North, West and East zones as well. South zone subscribers can access the self care portal here  bsnlszprepaid.com/webselfcare/faces/login.jspx Do share your experiences and review of the self care portal through your comments.
