Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) wants to make high-speed internet accessible to people everywhere. The company has an extensive FTTH (fiber-to-the-home) network throughout India. This is what the new Sarvatra tech will be based on. BSNL will use the existing FTTH network to offer high-speed internet access to users across different locations.
Suppose, a customer has an existing FTTH plan from BSNL Bharat Fibre connection at his/her home or office. Then if that customer steps out of their home/office, then they can access high-speed internet from other places where BSNL's FTTH service is available. This technology is meant to help with reducing the customer's dependence on mobile data.

This project was under the trial phase until now, but according to a report from Mathrubhumi, the trials are now completed. These trials took place in Kerala. Such technology will help spread high-speed internet access to customers in village areas as well. Users who want to take advantage of this scheme will have to register themselves. The state-run telecom operator has assured that the Sarvatra system is safe and secure.
The second modem is only used as a pathway here. It is also worth noting that much recently BSNL announced the deployment of 1000 4G towers in the state of Kerala. Kerala is one of the priority circles for BSNL. Thus, it makes sense that the telco is looking to launch 4G here as quickly as possible. BSNL is deploying a home-grown 4G network across India and in Kerala as well, the 1000 sites which have been deployed are done using indigenous technology.
