BSNL Unveils Rs 995 Broadband Plan With 20 Mbps Speed and 200GB FUP

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is on a roll at the moment as the telco has introduced a new broadband plan for the residents in Kerala circle. BSNL has over 12 million mobile subscribers in Kerala state alone, making it one of the largest circle for the telco and it’s no surprise that the government-owned PSU is launching new prepaid, postpaid and broadband plans to Kerala residents. The latest entrant to the list is BSNL FIBRO BBG ULD 995 CS287 broadband plan, which is introduced on a promotional basis in the Kerala circle. The plan’s already effective in the state from March 26, 2018, on a promotional basis, meaning it will be valid for 90 days from the date of implementation. The highlight of this plan is the telco offering a FUP of 200GB along with a download speed of 20 Mbps.

Before jumping into the benefits offered by the BSNL BBG ULD 995 CS287 broadband plan, make a note that this plan is applicable only to all the users of Ernakulam SSA of Kerala Circle. Unfortunately, it’s not available in any other city of Kerala state. Moving onto the benefits, the Rs 995 broadband plan gives 20 Mbps broadband connection and offers a FUP of 200GB. Post the FUP, users will be able to browse at 2 Mbps, which is underwhelming. BSNL would have at least offered 5 Mbps of after FUP speed.

The highlight of this plan is the FUP benefit it offers. Normally, BSNL doesn’t offer FUP of 200GB with its broadband plans, but this plan is aimed at solving the issue. Additionally, the plan subscribers will also receive a free email ID with 1GB of space. And yes, this plan doesn’t offer any voice calling benefits, meaning you’ve to either subscribe to a landline plan or use the plan without any voice calling benefits.

Another thing worth noting is the telco will charge an installation amount of Rs 500 and a minimum hire period of one month applies to every new user. Existing users can also migrate to this plan. Lastly, BSNL is offering the BSNL BBG ULD 995 CS287 broadband on a long-term basis. Users can avail the plan for one year at Rs 10,945, two years at Rs 20,898 and for three years at Rs 29,850.

So in my area BSNL was dead for a few days. Then they rectified the landline and internet and suddenly I am getting the speed which was promised when I signed up for the plan.
I used to get horrible speeds which hovered around 50-300KBps (mostly less than 150KBps) for the past 4-5 months. Now I even saw the speed go upto 1.1MBps a few times and almost felt like crying even though I use JIO and get much better speeds. LOL.
Power of stupid BSNL -_-

Some dude used to write “waste network and waste plans”. I agree with that chap for BSNL. All wasted plans. My private ISP in Goa rocks!

BSNL/MTNL combined offices of Delhi/NCR is bigger then your state Goa. My private ISP LoL, there many private ISP in delhi/ncr on every nook and corners. Still BSNL/MTNL is best for no FUP usage.
