Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), the state-owned telecom operator seems to be stepping up its game as the days pass. The telco which is amidst the swamp of widening losses had described its take on customer-centric services a few months back, and since then, it is safe to say that BSNL has made plenty of revisions to its plans, launched new offers which are wildly attractive for the subscribers. Now BSNL has also ramped up its content offerings as well along with the essential telecom services. Last we heard, the Rs 98 prepaid plan was revised, and it bundled Eros Now subscription. BSNL has now launched a new STV for Rs 298 which offers similar benefits along with Eros Now subscription but with some more quirks.

BSNL New STV 298 Offering Eros Now Subscription

The STV-298 which, as the name suggests, is available for Rs 298 for BSNL subscribers will ship 54 days of validity. In this validity period, BSNL will provide free unlimited local, STD and roaming calls to the users even to the Mumbai and Delhi circles, something which is not usual in other BSNL plans. In addition to this, BSNL will provide 1GB data per day to the subscribers after the exhaustion of which the speed will be throttled down to 40 Kbps. The STV will also bundle 100 SMS per day. The highlight of this plan is that it will even come with EROS Now Entertainment Services subscription. To recall, previously the Eros subscription was only available with the Rs 78, Rs 98, Rs 333 and Rs 444 prepaid plans only.

Eros Now Subscription Also Available With Rs 333 and Rs 444 Prepaid Plan

BSNL’s Rs 98 prepaid plan is one of the most popular ones in its portfolio. The Rs 98 plan used to offer 1.5GB data per day to the subscribers but it was later revised by BSNL to provide 2GB data per day. However, along with increasing the data in this plan, BSNL has also reduced the validity of this plan by two days. Previously, the plan used to offer 26 days validity, but now it comes with 24 days of validity. Other plans by BSNL which offer the Eros Now subscription are the Triple ACE plan of Rs 333 offering 3GB data per day for 45 days and the BSNL Chaukka plan of Rs 444 which provides unlimited voice calling, 4GB data per day for 60 days straight.

BSNL to Get 4G Spectrum from DoT Very Soon

Last week, BSNL was in the news for all the wrong reasons. Firstly, a report emerged online stated that the government has asked BSNL to explore options including the closure of services since it's the biggest loss-making entity for the government. However, BSNL rubbished the rumour by saying that the government is currently exploring options for BSNL's revival and will continue to provide services.

Earlier today, it was said that BSNL employees would go on strike from February 18, but the government again interfered and told to halt the same. In fact, the DoT stated that it's looking to provide 4G spectrum to the government-owned PSU for the rollout of high-speed data services.
