BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited), a state-run telecom operator, is currently the most affordable 4G service provider in the country. BSNL's plans are at least 20-30% cheaper than what the private telcos offer in most segments. The company has spent time and resources in expanding 4G to most parts of the country in the last few years. The telcos in India have already moved towards 5G, meanwhile BSNL is still managing its 4G rollout, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. We will talk more about this later in a separate post.

BSNL Rs 99 Plan in 2026: Details
BSNL Rs 99 plan comes with unlimited voice calling. It has a service validity of 14 days. It offers only 50MB of high-speed 4G data, and after that the speed reduces to 40 Kbps. So it is safe to say that this plan isn't meant for heavy data consumers. The daily cost of using this plan is just Rs 7.07 per day on average.
This is not a bad price. Especially when you are getting unlimited voice calling, it is a decent price for short-term. If you go with the private telcos such as Vodafone Idea, at this price range, it is often limited value of talktime bundled with the plans. The Rs 99 plan from BSNL is available in all of the telecom circles at the moment.

This is the most affordable service validity bundled prepaid plan from the company available right now in the voice vouchers section. Apart from this, of course, you can also recharge with data vouchers on top. With the data vouchers, you will be able to consume more data. If you can spend some more, you should directly go for the Rs 147 plan. It comes with 5GB of data, and unlimited voice calling for 24 days. What's missing with both these plans is SMS benefits. However, you can still send port-out SMS to 1900 if you want to, as per TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) norms.
