State-run telecom operator BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) has also revised its entry-level tariff plan of Rs 186. The BSNL Plan 186 now offers 5GB high-speed data, up from the earlier 1GB high-speed data. And this time, it also offers SMS benefits in line with private telecom operators tariff plans. The Plan 186 from BSNL is valid across the entire country, except Mumbai and Delhi, but the price of the plan differs with every circle.

BSNL 186 Plan

After the revision, the BSNL Plan 186 plan offering unlimited voice calls including both on-net and off-net calls in both home and national roaming excluding Mumbai and Delhi. In both Mumbai and Delhi, BSNL is not offering services as other government-owned PSU MTNL is offering services.

It further offers 5GB of high-speed data, after which the data speed goes down to 40 Kbps. So, BSNL is offering unlimited data with the Plan 186 like Reliance Jio. This is a huge bonus for the government-owned PSU as most of the private telecom operators are just daily FUP data.

Furthermore, the BSNL Plan 186 gives 1000 SMS for the entire validity period. Customers can SMS to any network across the country. All these benefits are valid for 28 days from the date of recharge. Any BSNL prepaid customer can recharge the Plan 186 and enjoy the benefits. These changes are already effective on BSNL's portal. We can confirm the plan 's availability in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana circle.

With private telecom operators upping the ante, BSNL is also looking to compete with them by increasing the data benefit. But still, the Plan 186's benefits don't match the rivals as they are offering 1GB data per day for the same 28 days charging a little more amount. But they are not offering unlimited data like BSNL though.
