BSNL Launches a New Year Combo Plan of Rs 74 Offering 1GB Data and 100 SMS per Day for 3 Days

Government-owned telecom operator BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) has come up with a new tariff plan of Rs 74 on the occasion of Christmas and New Year. This plan is valid from December 24, 2017, to January 1, 2018, meaning customers can recharge the plan during these days itself. And the benefits offered by this plan is valid on blackout days as well, which is a good thing.

BSNL has this habit of launching of promotional tariff plans on the occasion of any festival. This Rs 74 tariff offer gives 1GB data per day and 100 SMS per day for three days. It also offers Rs 10 talk time onto the main balance. But sadly, this tariff plan doesn't offer any voice calling benefits, which is underwhelming. BSNL should have added unlimited voice calling with this tariff plan.

Also, this plan is valid for just three days, which is another disappointment. The main intention behind launching this tariff plan is to offer free services on blackout days such as December 31 and January 1, where all the services would be charged at base rates.

This plan from BSNL competes with Airtel's Rs 93 tariff plan, which gives unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day, and 1GB 4G/3G/2G data for ten days. And then we have the Rs 98 tariff plan from Reliance Jio, which also offers 150MB data per day, 140 SMS, and unlimited voice calls to any network for 14 days.

Telecom operators such as BSNL and Idea Cellular have already sent out SMS about blackout days on December 31 and January 1. During both these days, SMS charges will roll back to standard rates.

As stated, this BSNL plan is valid for just three days from the date of recharge and BSNL will be killing the plan on January 1, 2018. So, if you're an avid wisher and looking to send all your contact list New Year wishes, then you should opt for this plan and send across 100 SMS per day.
