The state-run telecom operator BSNL now has decided to extend the 2G/3G data offer of their postpaid users to be valid during national roaming. Earlier, BSNL postpaid mobile customers were not allowed to use their voice plan bundled free 3G/2G Data outside home circle or LSA (licensed service area).

The new offer means that the postpaid customers can now enjoy Roam-like-Home (RLH) facility for data usages under bundled plan across all Indian states as home circle. However, RLH is not applicable to voice calls. The voice tariff will be as per their enrolled postpaid mobile plan.

Across several circles, BSNL offers bundled free data usage up to 2GB with all existing postpaid mobile plans, for which the fixed monthly charges starts from Rs. 225. BSNL postpaid mobile plan 225 is bundled with 200 MB free data, plan 325 with 250 MB free data, plan 525 with 500 MB free data, plan 725 with 1000 MB free data and plan 1500 with 2000 MB free data.

The subscribers who availed any postpaid 3G/2G add-on data plan are already allowed to use their free data from anywhere in India. The new revision extends the service to all BSNL postpaid customers, who may enjoy their voice plan bundled free data + free data with 3G/2G add-on plan (subscribed, if any) in Home LSA as well as in National Roaming.

The new move is expected to attract more postpaid users to BSNL and generate some revenues.
