BSNL-logoBSNL has announced launch of new lifetime plan with auto validity extension. The new plan will cost Rs 8 and has an initial validity of 180 days. The plan will be available to BSNL subscribers in all circles.

The plan comes with a call rate of Rs 1/min for local and Rs 1.5/min for STD calls. This plan is only available for new subscribers and migration to this plan is not available for existing subscriber. On reaching the expiry of the validity, it will be extended automatically by deducting the plan voucher amount of Rs 8 from their balance. Customers with balance less than the plan voucher will be reminded through SMS/IVR to extend their validity before expiry.

"The newly introduced plan will enable BSNL customers to keep alive their mobile by just spending a little amount of Rs.8l- half yearly We have many attractive and economical landline & broadband plans also suiting the needs of all segments of customers. BSNL rs committed to providing the best telecom services to the people of this country." Upendra Bakolia, Director (CM), BSNL.

BSNL still playing the validity game

All other operators in the country have removed the restrictions on the validity on the prepaid plan after introduction of lifetime plans. Now all basic prepaid plan comes with lifetime validity and customer no need to worry about extending it. As per TRAI rules, inactive users are truncated based on non-activity during 90 days period rather than on the validity.

Also: BSNL to withdraw all existing GSM Prepaid Plans except PYARI JODI & ROAMING Tariff PLANS

But BSNL still has validity for all its prepaid plans and even their lifetime plan comes with 180 days validity. Customer need to worry about plan validity apart from STV validity and has to extend every 180 days by doing recharges. It is high time for BSNL to do way with validity and make prepaid plan less complex for consumers.

Do let us know by comments on BSNL still continuing validity regime for its prepaid service.
