I tried a lot to bring ftth in my locality but the bsnl morons kept asking me to get 20 people’s application for ftth, such morons always do things the wrong way round. If they had laid fibre in the first place they would have got 50 applications right away. Then Reliance sensed opportunity and now every home has a reliance bb connection while most people surrendered bsnl lol.

Which area/city ? Is it FTTH from them or FTTC with fiber to nearby cabinet and copper from there?

Curious to know.

I am in Lucknow. Right now Reliance has laid normal copper based broadband but after they consolidate a subscriber base, they will lay down fiber next year. However most companies in India offer fttc and not ftth which is much more expensive as it requires fiber lines to every individual home. FTTC is more than sufficient. Good thing about reliance is that they don’t have a fup or speed throttling.

Which part of the city? I’ve contacted reliance through website as well as through phone but they are saying Reliance broadband is available only in selected areas. Then everytime i register a request for a new connection, i get a phone call from airtel seller selling its crap, costly, fup ridden plans. When i ask him where did he got my phone, he tells that reliance broadband seller is his brother. And out of mere coincidence, i don’t know, it has happened on three different occasions. Nevertheless, contrary to what others say, my experience with BSNL has been much better… Read more »

I am in the Metro City Apartment area. Earlier the connectivity was only in the apartments but on request of people they have extended it further into the nearby colonies. In which area are you? Nothing will happen if you contact them by mail or phone, you will have to go to Magnum Plaza head office of Reliance in Gomti Nagar and talk to the sales people there. I called them once and the next day there were pamphlets strewn all over the place with plan info. I guess they do require new customers so would not mind extending their… Read more »

In my opinion Bsnl Broadband is much better than Airtel 4G

Comparison

Airtel 4G—–> 995——->10GB(speed 14-19Mbps) after that 128Kbps
Bsnl BB——>945———>30GB(speed 30Mbps) after than 1Mbps + 5% less to govt employees
