These plans are introduced to counter the plans of the competitor operators which is quite understandable. Periodic introduction of suitable plans are certainly go to prove beneficial for the customers at large. BSNL is surely going to remain as the most significant player in the telecom market despite fierce competition and meet the social objectives which are beneficial for the general public.

Because they have a good customer base and they’re making profit in Kerala. Also there aren’t much worthy competitors to compete with BSNL. But in Andhra and Karnataka, there is ACT Broadband providing high speed cheap data services. So, in order to compete with them, BSNL is offering such plans. But I’ve no idea why they’re offering such plans to Punjab and Haryana region. Maybe BSNL heads in that state are capable enough to make BSNL make profits there.
