Currently BSNL is selling EvDO data cards to new customers for Rs. 1199 with free RUIM and activation, now BSNL will offer the same data cards with speeds up to 3.1 Mbps to existing 1x subscribers at half of that price around Rs. 599. The only condition is that all bills of postpaid subscribers must be paid and the 1x data card should be returned in working condition at the BSNL customer care centers.

Prepaid 1x data subscribers have the choice to pick from any of the existing prepaid EvDO data packs and postpaid 1x subscribers have the choice to pick from any of the existing postpaid EvDO plans. BSNL will offer promotional tariff for 90 days from today to facilitate the migration from 1x to EvDO data cards. It is a good deal for subscribers since they will be upgraded to a faster superior network.
