BSNL has come up with yet another promotional plan under which the government-owned company is offering 1GB of free data for all the smartphone users who doesn't use the GSM data services on their phones. BSNL claims that this plan is to promote the digital India campaign and to increase the internet usage in the country.
This new promotional scheme has been introduced on a pan-India basis and is valid for all the smartphone users across the country who are not enrolled into a BSNL data pack currently. With that said, the free data will be credited to every customer's account within 15 days from March 24.
BSNL, in a statement released today, quoted as they "decided to give a special free offer for smartphone users to promote Digital India drive and to increase internet users in prepaid mobile services. On pan India basis, BSNL offers 1 GB free data for the smartphone users who are not using BSNL GSM data services. The intention of this offer is to promote a number of internet users in BSNL network,".
All the smartphone users who are not on any of the BSNL GSM data services pack are eligible under the offer. The 1GB of data credited will be valid for 28 days.
BSNL recently introduced a new promotional plan of Rs. 339 offering 2GB of data per day and unlimited voice calling. The plan has already received a massive response in the country with BSNL users clocking 400TB of data on March 19.
