India's leading telecom operator Airtel is known for its aggressive moves, and in the past few months, we've seen insane changes in the mobile tariff plans department. However, it now seems like the company is settled the GSM space and now focussing on the broadband department.

The company is making a shift in its strategy because Reliance Jio will be soon foraying into the broadband segment with its JioFiber FTTH broadband technology and said to offer free services for three months. To not lose the customers in the broadband space, Airtel is aggressively offering free data to all the customers.

Recently, Airtel offered free data for the users who link their Airtel broadband, DTH, and mobile service in the My Airtel app. Today, the official Airtel broadband website says it will reward up to 1000GB of free data for one year based on the plan they use.

If we consider the area of Delhi, the base package is Rs. 899 that provides 60GB of data per month with download speed up to 16Mbps. Additionally, the Rs. 899 plan users will get 750GB data based for one year. For example, the 750GB will be divided to each month and will be credited accordingly.

Airtel's official terms and conditions page say that 65GB data will be credited each month for 12 months for the Rs. 899 plan users. Besides the Rs. 899 plan, there are other four broadband plans of Rs. 1099, Rs. 1299, Rs. 1499, and Rs. 1799. Customers under these four plans will get 1000GB of bonus data for one year.

However, there are some catches with this bonus offer, as expected. The bonus free data is only applicable for the users of Delhi NCR, and they have to be a new customer. That said, existing customers under the network won't get any free bonus data.

Airtel in its official terms and conditions page stated 'The Offer is valid only in India and redeemable only upon taking fresh subscriptions to Airtel’s select DSL broadband rental plans in accordance with the present terms and conditions.'

Airtel might be offering free bonus data because Jio is offering the service free for three months under the JioFiber Preview offer which is already live is six cities across the country.
