Ban on Bulk SMS and MMS Withdrawn By Govt of India

Now, there seems to great relief for all the SMS fans! According to our exclusive sources, Govt of India's (Home Ministry) today withdrawn SMS Bans and Department of Telecommunications (DoT) sends new directive to all mobile service providers to withdrawal of the SMS Ban and remove the the limit of 20 SMS per day per SIM for all mobile subscribers with immediate effect.




The Govt of India banned bulk SMSes and MMSes or more than 5 SMS per day for a period of 15 days starting Aug 17 in the wake of a hate campaign targeting people from the northeast and which has been revised up 20 SMS per day August 23rd, 2012 as earlier we shared on TelecomTalk

We also spoke with our sources in leading GSM service provider MTNL and BSNL and both operators are going to implement the new order today by removing SMS/MMS CAP of 20 SMS/MMS per day per SIM
