Asus launched the ZenFone Max Pro M2 and ZenFone Max M2 earlier this week. The ZenFone Max Pro M2 is the successor to the Max Pro M1 while the ZenFone Max M2 is the follow-up device of the ZenFone Max M1, which was launched just a couple of months ago. Compared to the predecessors, the successor devices are much improved in almost all aspects including the design, camera, processor, among other things. Both the ZenFone Max Pro M1 and the ZenFone Max M1 were great phones and stood well against the Redmi Note 5 Pro and the Redmi 6. The same is expected from the newly launched ZenFone Max Pro M2 and ZenFone M2. Asus has launched the ZenFone Max Pro M2 for a starting price tag of Rs 12,999 while the ZenFone Max M2 retail at a starting price of Rs 9,999. So which one should you go for? Display
The screen of the ZenFone Max Pro M2 is bigger than Max M2. The display of the Max M2 measures 6.28-inches. The phone comes with an IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9. In comparison, the ZenFone Max Pro M2 comes with a 6.3-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2280 x 1920 pixels with an aspect ratio of 19:9. Additionally, the Max Pro M2' screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6 which is a first in this segment.
Processor, RAM and Storage
On the hardware front, the Asus ZenFone Max M2 is the second smartphone in India to be powered by the Snapdragon 632 processor which comes paired Qualcomm's custom Kryo cores clocked at a maximum of 1.8GHz. RAM. The phone will be available in two variants, the base model with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage while the top end variant comes packed with 4GB RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage. On the other hand, the ZenFone Max Pro M2 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor clocked at a maximum of 1.95GHz paired with Adreno 512 GPU. The smartphone comes in three RAM variants, the base model with 3GB RAM, the second model with 4GB RAM and the top end model with 6GB RAM. On the storage front, the ZenFone Max Pro M2 has two options: 32GB and 64GB.
Software and Battery
On the software front, both the ZenFones run on Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box and the phones also come pre-loaded with several third-party apps. As for the battery department, the ZenFone Max Pro M2 packs a massive 5000mAh battery while the Max M2 comes with 4000mAh battery. Both the phones come paired with 10W fast charging support.
Camera
On the rear panel, both the ZenFones come with the dual camera system, while on the front it includes a single camera setup. The ZenFone Max M2 includes a primary sensor of 13MP with an aperture of f/1.8, and a secondary sensor is of 2MP. On the front, the phone includes an 8MP selfie camera paired with an aperture of f/2.0. The ZenFone Max Pro M2 also has a dual camera system with a primary sensor of the 12MP and secondary sensor of 5MP. On the front, the phone includes a 13MP selfie shooter with an aperture of f/2.0
