Asus Zenfone Max M2 With Snapdragon 632 SoC to Rival Honor 8C in India

Asus already confirmed that it's holding an event in India on December 11. Everyone expected that the Zenfone Max Pro M2 would be unveiled at the event. Yes, the Max Pro M2 with Snapdragon 660 SoC will be launched at the event, but alongside that, the company will also be unveiling the Asus Zenfone Max M2 with Snapdragon 632 SoC. Of course, the Max Pro M2 will steal the limelight, but the Max M2, which is the successor to the Max M1 will sport the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC. For the unaware, Snapdragon 632 SoC is the direct successor to the Snapdragon 625 chipset which was known for its power-saving capabilities. Notably, the Max M2 will take on the Honor 8C in India because it also packs the same chipset and will be available for purchase starting December 10.

Asus Zenfone Max M2: Confirmed Features and Specifications

While Asus confirmed that the Max M2 would be unveiled on December 11 in India, the smartphone has already been made available in Russia, alongside the Max Pro M2. The Asus Zenfone Max M2 will sports a 6.3-inch HD+ display, which is a step up from the 5.45-inch panel we saw on the Max M1, but the resolution is similar. At the heart of the phone, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC, clubbed with 3GB, 4GB of RAM and 32GB, 64GB of internal storage. It will be interesting to see which variants will Asus launch in the country.

The Zenfone Max M2 will house a notch on top of the display, and it will rock dual rear cameras of 13MP+2MP. The front-facing camera on the Max M2 will be an 8MP one. The phone will have the same 4000mAh battery as its predecessor. To recall, the Max M1 arrived with Snapdragon 430 SoC, single rear camera and Zen UI based on Android 8.0 Oreo. The Max M2 will run stock Android out of the box, like the Max Pro M2.

Asus Zenfone Max M2 vs Max M1: What's Different?

As mentioned, Max M2 is already official in Russia and is listed on the company's official website. Asus might make some changes to the specs, but the core hardware could remain the same for the Indian market. So the Max M2 will a major upgrade to the Max M1 which was released just a couple of months ago. The Zenfone Max M1 sports a 5.45-inch HD+ display, Snapdragon 430 SoC, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, dedicated microSD card slot, 13MP rear camera, 8MP front-facing camera, Zen UI on top of Android 8.0 Oreo and a 4000mAh battery.

The Zenfone Max M2 features a bigger 6.26-inch HD+ display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC, 3GB/4GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB of internal storage, dedicated microSD card slot, dual rear cameras of 13MP+2MP, 8MP selfie shooter, stock Android and a 4000mAh battery.

While it's a major upgrade over its predecessor, there will be a price bump as well. We're expecting the phone to retail at a starting price of Rs 10,999 or even Rs 9,999 is a possible price.
