Asus has started rolling out a new software update to its flagship device, the Asus Zenfone 5Z. This is the second major update pushed by Asus in the last two weeks. The new FOTA update for the Zenfone 5Z brings 12 new functionalities according to the company. Firstly, Asus has added a new feature to the Face Unlock, which now unlocks the device by just raising it, allowing the hassle of pressing the power button to wake and then unlock the phone. In addition, this new update comes with Android Pie-like Gesture Controls. Next up, Asus has fixed the issues related to the camera. Asus stated that it has improved HDR mode, manual white focus function in PRO mode, selfie camera improvements and boost audio quality in the video to 192kbps bitrate.

Asus Zenfone 5Z New FOTA Update Improvements
Alongside the new functionalities mentioned above, Asus has also enabled live filters in the camera app. The Taiwanese company also enabled RAW file support, Panorama feature and the camera now supports auto anti-flicker feature, which means that the device will auto-detect electricity frequency based on lighting condition and switch the frequency between 50 Hz and 60 Hz to prevent flickering.
Furthermore, Asus has finally added the option to enable/disable EIS for video recording as well. The FOTA update also brings an option to enable flash in the PRO mode.
Another major feature brought by Asus is the support for Electronic Image Stabilisation in 1080p recording at 60fps. Post the update, the camera will switch to either OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation) and EIS to take super smooth videos depending on conditions. Lastly, Asus has also added support for overheat detection in video recording mode, which will be very much useful while video recording and the Zenfone 5Z now supports three-dimensional noise reduction feature in PRO mode as well
