As anticipation builds for Apple's upcoming iPhone 15 series, analyst Jeff Pu from Haitong International Tech Research suggests that the larger iPhone 15 Pro Max will come with a significant price increase due to rising manufacturing costs. The highly anticipated devices are expected to be unveiled in September, with mass production commencing in August and a target of over 84 million units.
Currently, Apple's flagship offering in the US is the base model of the iPhone 14 Pro Max, priced at $1,099 before taxes. However, the price for the same variant in India is Rs 1,39,900. The price hike for the iPhone 15 Pro Max is said to reflect the advanced features and capabilities it offers compared to its predecessor.
The manufacturing cost of the iPhone 15 series is reported to have risen by 12%, contributing to the price increase. Unlike the iPhone 14 Pro, where the 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch models had similar features apart from the battery and display, the larger iPhone 15 Pro Max is rumoured to include more exclusive features to justify the higher price tag.

One notable feature expected on the iPhone 15 Pro Max is a periscope zoom lens, a first for the iPhone, which will provide up to 6x optical zoom. Additionally, the device is rumoured to include three-stacked sensors, enhancing picture and video quality.
Looking ahead, the analyst suggests that future iPhone 16 models may incorporate a new technology called "metalens" within the proximity sensor, reducing the size of the Face ID hardware. The iPhone 16 is also rumoured to feature a Wi-Fi 7-capable network modem.
Apple enthusiasts eagerly await the launch of the iPhone 15 series, with the iPhone 15 Pro Max expected to offer enhanced features and justify the price hike. As the manufacturing process begins, Apple aims to meet the high demand for its next-generation devices and continue its legacy of delivering cutting-edge technology to consumers worldwide.
