Apple has sent out media invites for its next major event to be held on September 12. At the event, the Cupertino giant is expected to launch the 10th anniversary iPhone, along with upgrades to iPhone 7 & 7 Plus, Apple Tv, Apple Watch, and the all new iOS 11 update for iPhones and iPads. Rumours say that there won’t be any MacBook or iPad announcements at the event.

Apple is heavily anticipated to launch three iPhones at the event- iPhone 8, iPhone 7S, and iPhone 7S Plus. The iPhone 8 will be the anniversary edition, while the 7S and 7S Plus will be modest upgrades to last year’s iPhone 7 and 7 Plus with a similar design.
The next-generation iPhone 8 is said to feature an edge-to-edge 5.8-inch display, along with a cut for the front-facing camera, same as the Essential smartphone. The Apple iPhone 8 doesn’t feature a TouchID according to several rumours. Instead, it will come with a new 3D face-scanning camera, which will be a lot more secure than the facial recognition feature seen on some Android smartphones.
The iPhone 8 will feature Apple’s latest A11 chipset, which will introduce some new AR tricks to take on Google’s Tango project. Furthermore, the iPhone 8 will feature a vertically positioned dual camera setup at the back, but the implementation is expected to be the same here- one standard RGB lens and a telephoto lens with 2X Zoom capabilities. The smartphone may also feature wireless charging.
Coming to the iPhone 7S and 7S Plus, they both feature the same design as their predecessors, but the build may be changed to glass body because of the wireless charging support. With the metal body, you can’t add the wireless charging feature. So, the iPhone 7S and 7S Plus may feature glass body, same as the iPhone 8 and earlier iPhones such as iPhone 4S.
