Apple is gearing up to launch a new iPad Pro series at the event slated for next month. In the latest report by a Japanese website, Mac Otakara, Apple is tipped to come with a fresh lineup of iPad Pro along with a refreshed version iPad Mini.
Regarding the new iPad Pro, the report suggests that there will be four new models with varied screen sizes - 7.9-inch, 9.7-inch, 10.5-inch, and 12.9-inch. The 10.5-inch model will not be available until May while the other models will be shipped starting from March itself. A previous report by Mac Otakara leaked a 10.9-inch iPad Pro, but the latest report says that the size of the display would be 10.5-inch. Reports also stated that the new iPad Pro would be bezel-less, but there are chances for a strip on the top to embed the FaceTime camera. The new series of iPad Pro is most likely to be slimmer than the previous variants.
Also, Apple also seems to have plans to overhaul its iPad Mini series. The 7.9-inch variant of the iPad Pro could be the new iPad Mini. Interestingly, the rumoured 10.5-inch iPad Pro might ditch the Home button to flaunt an edge-to-edge display. Besides, the report by Mac Otakara also tips that the 12.9-inch iPad Pro variant might sport a 12-megapixel rear camera along with True Tone display technology that uses four-channel ambient light sensors to adjust colour scheme according to the surroundings.
The 7.9-inch iPad Pro is expected to come with a Smart Connector and other features such as True Tone display, four speakers, 12-megapixel iSight camera paired with True Tone flash, and more. Interestingly, all the upcoming iPads will feature quad microphones.
A previous report by Barclays analysts tipped that Apple could release just three iPads in March with 9.7-inch, 12.9-inch, and edge-to-edge 10.9-inch models. This report did not mention the 7.9-inch iPad Pro, and it also predicted that Apple would launch a separate iPad Mini 4 model in September. On the other hand, another analyst from KGI Securities - Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple would launch three iPads this year. Kuo also mentioned that 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch variants could come powered by a faster Apple A10X chipset while the 9.7-inch model can come equipped with a more feasible Apple A9X chipset.
Other than the new iPad Pro lineup, Apple is also expected to launch a 128GB storage of the iPhone SE. The Cupertino giant could also introduce a Red color option for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. In the wearable segment, the company might showcase new Apple Watch bands.
All these reports are coming from different channels, but they do have related information about the upcoming iPad models. It remains to be seen what Apple finally unleashed at the event in March. Stay tuned with us for more details about the imminent iPad models.
