Wow! Slap in 6 months old components, add a “Pro” name and advertise it as Windows Replacement. This qualifies for $100 price hike over previously released Air 2 model. Tim Cook’s bean counter cannot sustain this. This was an extremely boring event and the old Apple Magic has just vanished. BTW good luck in filling up that 256 GB iPad variant at USB 2 speeds. It will take 256 GB x 1024 MB = 262144 MB 262144 MB / 30 Mbps (USB 2 transfer speed per second) = 8738 seconds (To completely fill up) 8738 sec / 60 sec =… Read more »

The worst part is they are saying people will replace their Laptop/Desktop PC with it. I don’t think tabs can match versatility and productivity of Laptop/Desktop. Same thing goes for ios device vs windows computer.

when they write 256GB, its 256 billion bytes, not 256 gigabytes.(1TB drive is 1 trillion bytes, and not 1tera bytes)
256000000000/1024 = 250000000
250000000/1024 = 244140.625
244140.625/1024 = 238.4185791015625
So, you got 238GB of storage
That makes it 244140MB
30Mbps is 30 Megabits per sec, and not Bytes per sec
30/8 = 3.75MB/s(Mega Bytes per sec)
Now, 1 second, 3.75MB gets filled.
So, how many seconds will 244140 fill?
cross multiply
244140×1/3.75 = 65104 seconds
65104/60 = 1085.066666666667 minutes
1085.066666666667/60 = 18.08444444444444
So, it will take 18 hours to fill up that 256GB

Yes. My calculations of 2 Hrs 25 Mins are correct. Kiran Fernandes has gone overboard with wrong calculations lol.

I mentioned 30 Mbps. That was typo. Correct was 30 MBPS with a capital B.
