Bharti Airtel, India’s largest telecom company today said that they rolled out an upgraded 4G network across 400 towns of Maharashtra and Goa to deliver best-in-class mobile network experience to customers.
Airtel already has 4G services in Maharashtra and Goa, but with the upgraded 4G network, the company is promising uninterrupted HD video streaming along with improved data speeds and better indoor and outdoor network reception.
Airtel has deployed a new 4G network capacity in the 1800MHz spectrum to supplement the existing 2300MHz 4G spectrum band. For the unaware, the 1800MHz spectrum in built on FD, whereas the 2300MHz runs on TD. That said, with the combination of both TD-LTE and FD-LTE carriers, customers in both Maharashtra and Goa will enjoy better network coverage and data speeds.
As a part of the introductory offer, Airtel is offering up to 10GB of free 4G data. Customers with a 4G ready device can head over to the nearest Airtel store and switch to a new 4G SIM to avail the free 4G data up to 10GB.

And in November 2015, Airtel started the revamp of their 4G network technology with a total investment of Rs. 60,000 crores over the next three years. This project is called as ‘Project Leap’ which aims at delivering best customer experience.
