For the unaware, Airtel Wi-Fi Calling or a traditional VoWi-Fi network allows the users to make and receive calls and texts (SMS 7 MMS) over a Wi-Fi network. The official website of Airtel Wi-Fi Calling says the service will only be available via Airtel Broadband. This essentially means the supported handset users on Airtel Xstream Fibre network will be able to use Airtel Wi-Fi Calling service. If you reside in Delhi, do let us know whether Airtel Wi-Fi Calling is available on other Wi-Fi networks or not.
As for the advantages of Airtel Wi-Fi Calling, the call connection time and quality will be superior compared to standard and VoLTE calling technologies. Furthermore, the service does not require any additional or separate app or log in for usage.
