Bharti Airtel, the former leading telecom company, has made a change to its Rs 399 postpaid plan. The telecom operator has announced that it will now offer 20GB additional data in a year. Notably, the Rs 399 postpaid plan by Airtel provides 20GB data per month along with other bundled benefits like unlimited local, STD and roaming calls and also 100SMS per day. Previously, we were doubtful whether or not the new change by Airtel to this plan was applicable for an entire year or just a month. Since now the news has been clarified, we know that postpaid subscribers of Rs 399 postpaid plan will enjoy 20GB extra yearly data. Another thing to note here is that the said plan by Airtel comes with data carryover facility which is capped at 500GB, meaning that subscribers will be able to save up to 500GB data if left unused to be used in the next billing cycle.

This new change which comes under the name of ‘Additional 20GB Data for a Year,’ was a much-needed one since it had been some time since Airtel last made a change to its postpaid plan. The calling under this postpaid plan remains uncapped unlike it is the case with Idea Cellular. Also, the data carryover being offered by Airtel is more than what is being provided by other telcos. However, this plan by Airtel misses out on the free Amazon Prime subscription, which it bundles with other higher priced postpaid plans.

Recently, Vodafone has revised the Rs 399 and Rs 499 plans offering better data benefit than Airtel. Vodafone's Rs 399 plan is currently providing 40GB of data benefit every month, and the Rs 499 RED plan gives a user 75GB of data on a monthly basis. While Airtel already made a change to the Rs 499 postpaid plan to match Vodafone, the Rs 399 plan received a revision just now.

Coming to the entry-level postpaid plan of Rs 399, Vodafone is ahead of Airtel because it's offering more data benefit and even Amazon Prime subscription for one year. Idea Cellular, on the other hand, is yet to revised its Nirvana range of postpaid plans.
