Bharti Airtel is taking the prepaid segment seriously these days so that the customers will not migrate to other operators. Airtel has launched several unique plans in recent times such as Rs 299 with Amazon Prime subscription, Rs 249 and Rs 599 plans with Rs 4 lakh worth life insurance and there are other affordable long-validity plans as well which stand out from the crowd. But there's one Airtel prepaid plan which not many users aware of and it's the Rs 558 recharge. Bharti Airtel has been offering this prepaid plan as an open market option for a while now, but it went unnoticed. This plan from Airtel is an ideal choice for data-savvy users as it ships with 3GB daily data and the validity of the plan is also 82 days. In contrast, Reliance Jio has a Rs 509 prepaid plan that offers 4GB data per day, but the validity offered by Jio is just 28 days.

Airtel Rs 558 Prepaid Plan is a Go-To Option for Heavy Data Users

Over the last year, a lot of Airtel customers are leaving the network due to various reasons. Firstly, Airtel prepaid customers did not like the introduction of minimum recharge scheme as customers were not ready to shell out a mandatory Rs 35 every month; Next up, when it introduced the minimum recharge scheme, there were not so many attractive prepaid plans from the company like the Rs 299 or Rs 249 or even the Rs 599 plan was launched very recently.

However, ever since Airtel started focussing on the prepaid segment, it's customer base remained at a particular number- no decrease or no significant increase.

Bharti Airtel has a Rs 558 prepaid plan that provides benefits like unlimited voice calling without any FUP limit, 100 SMSes per day, and more importantly, it ships with 3GB daily data. The validity of the plan is 82 days, which is very interesting. As the data benefit itself suggests, Airtel is targeting heavy data users with this prepaid plan. The telecom operator also has an affordable 3GB daily data plan and it's priced at Rs 349, but the validity is just 28 days. Additionally, if a customer recharges through My Airtel app, then the data benefit would be 3.4GB per day for 82 days.

To recall, Airtel launched the Rs 558 prepaid plan after removing the prepaid plan of Rs 549 that offered similar benefits for just 28 days. Overall, the Rs 558 prepaid plan from Airtel offers a whopping 246GB data benefit. This is the premium daily data plan from Airtel, post which it has long-validity plans like Rs 597, Rs 998 and so on which does not inspire confidence when it comes to data benefit.

Airtel Rs 558 Prepaid Plan Beats Jio's Rs 509 Plan Hands Down

Reliance Jio is the leader when it comes to prepaid plans, but Bharti Airtel is trying its best to compete with Jio. Airtel's Rs 558 plan takes on Reliance Jio's Rs 509 prepaid plan which was revised back in 2018 to provide benefits for just 28 days. With its Rs 509 prepaid plan, Reliance Jio is shipping 4GB daily data, unlimited voice calls (calls to other networks will be charged separately) and 100 SMSes per day for just 28 days. As for the overall data benefit, Jio's plan offers just 112GB of 4G data, which is significantly lower than that of 246GB data benefit offered by Reliance Jio.

The Mukesh Ambani-led Jio even has a Rs 799 prepaid plan which offers 5GB of daily data for 28 days. If daily data benefit is something high on your priority list, then Reliance Jio has the Rs 509 and Rs 799 prepaid plans. Overall, Airtel's Rs 558 plan is a go-to option for many as it offers better overall data benefit and validity compared to those of Jio's prepaid plans.
