Certified r-PVC Material

Airtel Payments Bank has announced that their debit cards will be made from certified eco-friendly r-PVC material, which will positively impact the environment. This move aligns with the Bank's commitment to sustainability and promoting eco-friendly practices in the financial sector.

Reduction in Carbon Emissions and Hydrocarbon Usage

Airtel Payments Bank stated that for every batch of 50,000 cards that are made, there will be a significant decrease of 350 kgs of carbon emissions compared to the usual PVC cards used. Additionally, producing the r-PVC cards will lead to a 43 percent reduction in hydrocarbon usage, effectively decreasing the petroleum consumption during the manufacturing process.

Water Conservation

Regarding water conservation, the Bank said its forward-thinking approach will aid in conserving water resources by saving 6.6 million litres of water with each batch of r-PVC cards. This noteworthy conservation effort demonstrates the Bank's commitment to sustainable practices and its efforts to reduce its environmental impact.
