To ramp up their operations and to match the levels of Reliance Jio, the telcos are starting to increase their network capacity and coverage. Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea have both been on this task, and they are heavily investing in the quality, capacity and coverage of their 4G network. In the latest news, as part of its network expansion exercise, Bharti Airtel has boosted its 4G network in the north-east region, thereby increasing the quality of the network and enhancing the experience for smartphone users in this region.

LTE 900 Deployed In Cities Like Guwahati, Shillong, Itanagar and More

The Sunil Bharti Mittal led telecom operator has boosted the 4G network in the north-eastern region of Assam and other nearby areas with the LTE 900 technology. The telecom operator has noted that the introduction of the 4G network on the 900 MHz band will give a boost to the indoor network coverage and will also enhance the smartphone experience of the customers. This network enhancing exercise by deploying the LTE 900 technology wasn’t just limited to Assam but was done throughout the north-east region including cities like Guwahati, Shillong, Itanagar, Imphal, Agartala meaning that Airtel 4G subscribers in these cities will also get to experience enhanced network, speeds and indoor coverage.

Bharti Airtel has also noted that the rollout of the 900 MHz spectrum in the region will get it additional high-speed data capacity to serve its customers. One of the advantages of using this technology is that given the high propagation and reach of the 900 Mhz spectrum, the Airtel smartphone customers will be able to enjoy better 4G availability in their homes, offices, or other indoor premises like malls or markets. Not only this, but the technology will also result in a broader availability in the entire region.

Enhanced Network Experience for Bharti Airtel 4G Customers

About this new 900 Mhz deployment, Bharti Airtel said, “Our endeavour is to deliver quality network experience to our customers. The deployment of LTE 900 will further boost Airtel 4G coverage, particularly inside homes and buildings. Airtel smartphone customers will enjoy a seamless high-speed data and HD quality calling experience on our upgraded network.  We will continue to invest in deployment of latest network technologies to delight our customers.”

It is worth noting that in the North East and Assam, Airtel uses a spectrum bank including 2300 Mhz (TD LTE), 1800 Mhz (FD LTE), and 900 Mhz (LTE 900) to offer 4G VoLTE services to customers. Not only this, but the telecom operator has also deployed 4G Advanced and Carrier Aggregation to step up high-speed network capacity and coverage apart from this new technology.  Bharti Airtel has also announced that it will expand its network in Assam and NE by rolling out 2720 new base stations and 3100 Km of the optic fibre under its network transformation program.
